Praise for Fine Books

My book-collecting heart has been warmed! I had intended to spread out this excellent Winter 2010 issue [compendium] over several days at least: the kitchen island where I eat breakfast, the doctor’s waiting room, the bathroom where I brush my teeth … But it was so interesting that I just kept on reading it right where I was [the kitchen], as I have read all the issues since the beginning. I spend many hours at my computer [family finances, family and Rackham Society email, etc.] and simply don’t have time to read online newsletters, journals and magazines, so thank you very much for continuing to send me a print edition I can take in a tote bag in the car. It will then join the stack of back copies I keep with my Rackham collection to refer to in the future.

Thanks, and good luck,
Dorothy S. Gibbs, President Emeritus
The Arthur Rackham Society

It was indeed a wonderful surprise to see a real copy [compendium] of Fine Books & Collections in my mail late last year. I postponed reading it because I wanted to save it for a special moment. When the special moment came, I only read the first few pages as I wanted to enjoy it again and again. I finally finished it today (1/4/10). It’s too bad that you decided to drop the hard copy as there is nothing better than sitting down in my favorite chair with a single malt scotch and perusing your magazine. I'll bet if you took a survey of all your customers before you switched from hard to E, most of us would have been willing to pay double the price for the 6 hard copies/year.

Thank you and best regards,
David Schneider
